This is a ZC help question really ...
2.10.2 is a quite recent version, mapmaker was made long before and for older versions. I can only imagine they're not compatible.
I put the mapmaker facility into ZQuest itself for 2.11, that is under Etc./View Map there's a checkbox "mapmaker" in the dialog box.
I don't know if 2.10.2 has that - if yes, use it and you're done - if not, you could download the latest beta anyway and open a copy of your quest in that to make maps. I said "copy" because you should never open your original quest in a wrong version, you risk trashing the whole quest file if something goes wrong. Make a copy and if that does go wrong, you'll still have the real thing.

Aaron1046's not talking about "Map Maker", he's referring to ZQuest as a map maker.

It is a known bug in 2.10.2 that opening Misc. Colors causes it to crash, there's nothing you can do about it. Try opening the quest in 2.10.

Okay, usually you don't need to open Misc. Colors unless you want to customize certain things. So you're good to go.
