how would i go about coloring him? i tried playing with cset 1(?) in extra sprites 1 and it seemed to do something, but i'm a complete idiot when it comes to csets. so if anyone would be kind enough to explain what exactly i have to do to get him colored in, i'd be grateful. thanks!

Try loading sprite CSET 1 to CSET 9, and then recolor it from there.

How do I do that?

Well, from 2.10.. Quest->Graphics->Palettes->Sprites

Select esp (extra sprite palette) 1.

Click on cset 1, then click on the big button that says "Load to CS 9"

Close the window.

Quest->Graphics->Palettes->Main Look at cset 9 in that window. It should be the colors from ESP 1.

That... should do it, though when I try, it's not working. I'm probably skipping a step. ZQ rust is pretty high.

Play around with this.. Look at different palette options, maybe you can find out what I'm missing.

Actually, if memory serves me correctly, the Gleeok uses C-Set One in the extra sprite palette, which is accessed by going under Quest -> Graphics -> Palettes -> Sprites, then assigning the desired colors to the C-Set. These colors are then automatically loaded into the main C-Set Fourteen as needed depending on the enemy being represented. Digdogger and Dodongo also share a C-Set I believe as well; I want to say it is C-Set Two but I could be mistaken. Alternatively, you can also recolor their sprites to take advantage of the newer Eight Bit mode if you have an advanced build of Z-Quest; just be sure not to use any colors out of C-Sets Two through Four (Five as well if you have that set fade) as that will cause the enemy sprites to disappear in the dark, unless of course you want that to happen in some circumstances, heh heh!! Like for instance traps in a dark room, which combined with a completely blacked out room with proper color usage could make for an interesting (In other words, frustrating) time for players without a means to light the room and it could also prevent progress until the candle is found depending on the room layout.....

thanks for the responses. i still haven't figured out what to do lol...

so far, i tried the "load to cset 9" button as everyone suggested, but cset 9 doesn't change when i go back to the main palette. in fact, i'm not sure if the button is working--tried it with a few other csets and nothing happens.

what's making this so difficult is that i can change the cset 1 colors in extra sprites 1, but i have no idea what i'm changing until i play the quest. i'm guessing the "load to cset 9" button takes away that frustration by letting me view the gleeok colors in cset 9...if only i knew how to make it work!

Well, the problem is, Sprite CSet 1 in the DoR Set seems to be lacking colors. So, try adding more colors to Sprite CSet 1, or copy Sprite CSet 13 over Sprite CSet 1.
Here! I'll give you an example. I added more colors to Sprite CSet 1.

Are you using 2.10? Because I don't know what you did.

Try another tileset to be sure. I know Pure's works as I used in it CoD. If it works there, you may just have to come up with your own cset for the Gleeok.

Yes, Bowser. I took the snapshot in 2.10, after I added colors to Sprite CSet 1, loaded it to CSet 9,went to the tile editor, and scrolled down to the Gleeok Tiles in the New Enemy Tiles.

Heh. Then he could just rip the palette from that screenshot and that would fix it.

All you need to do is create a C-Set (By editing the RGB values, of course) in the Extra Sprite Palette C-Set One with the colors that you want to use on the Gleeok. From there, copy that C-Set into the Main Sprite Palette temporarily so you can use it for reference, preferably on a little or unused C-Set that can be changed back later. Using that temporary C-Set, color in the Gleeok sprites with the colors that you are using (bear in mind the color's position in the C-Sets cannot be different between the palettes or it will screw things up) then afterward if you needed the original C-Set either copy it back in or rebuild it as necessary. This of course will cause the Gleeok sprite colors to look screwed up again in the editor, but the game is not using what you see in the editor for reference, so the sprites should look fine in actual gameplay. Make sense?
