[Love For Fire]

Whistle is in the dungeon, but you don't need it to kill those blades. Think about what other purple monsters were weak against.

Got to level 9 but ran out of keys. Did I miss the magic key somewhere? Or did I screw myself by not going through the doors in the right order?

There is no magic key in the game. There should have been enough keys no matter which way you went, but I will recheck to make sure.

Shoot. I just realized it is possible to run out if you go up and right from the first wizzrobe room before you go left. I'll be fixing that in the next release. Thanks for pointing it out! I will say that you don't -need- to go either right or left to make it through level 9, just up.

If you pick up the first keyring and go to the right, completing that whole side you should end with 1 key. If you go left you should end with two or three. Try killing everything, pushing blocks, & blowing up things with cracks in them. The key is there.

I'm not sure how you ran out of keys without exploring up first. Going left, the first room has two Lanmolas that drop another triple keyring. One is used to go down, where the darknuts have a single key, giving you +3 keys. You use one in the next room, and one in the room you warp to after fighting the Dodongos, leaving you with 1 key, plus as many as two from the first keyring you got from the wizzrobes.

 

On the right side, the first room is a block puzzle. After you kill the wizzrobes use a super bomb to break the cracked block on the right, then move the blocks onto the triggers to reveal a chest with a key. In the next room, kill the lanmolas then move the blocks onto the triggers to get another key. In the room that's down from there, the wizzrobes will reveal a chest that requires a key to get some more super bombs. To the right of the lanmola room, fight a fire blob to get one last key. You should end this side with one key unless you opened one of the other doors in the branching room before exploring to the right. If you opened the door to the left you can run that part and get more keys. If you opened the door going up you won't be able to explore the left side (until I fix the key count) but the only thing you're missing is the compass and a few rupees.  Once you've gone up, there are a few screens of puzzles and monsters until you hit the room with the boss door. Solve this puzzle and go left until you find Digdogger. He has the last regular key. Use it to keep going left, fight the Gleeok, and get the boss key. The last part of the dungeon (beyond the boss door) has no regular keys or regular locks--just puzzles and monsters aplenty.

 

Like I said, I'm going to be fixing the key numbers in the next revision. Sorry you're having a buggy experience

I haven't played in a while now I can't remember were each level is located without level names.  Help where is level 5 and where can I find the hookshot?

Is there a map that shows where each level is located at?

I didn't finsh the right side before I went to the left side. So I guess I'll have to start the quest over.

... that's odd. The left side is the one with more keys. I'm really not sure how there weren't enough. I will def. be overhauling level 9 in the revision.

I finished it.  I'll post a review soon.  Very unique experience with the leveling up system and the magic spells.  Two questions- Is the best tunic in the quest?  Does L9 have a lower level like the other levels?

You didn't miss it--level 9 does not have a basement. The outlying caves took the place of a basement. (Also, in each level the basement is only accessible with the item you find by beating the boss, and after you beat Ganon, the game is over). And the gold armor is the best in the quest.

Where was it?  I thought I had found all of the sword and armor upgrades, but I guess not.

It's in one of the underworld minidungeons. There are six treasures to find before heading to Ganon's Fortress--Enhancer 2, Abei's Gift 2, Magic Ring 3, Gold Armor, Quake Hammer, and Silver Arrows. Technically the only one you need is the Silver Arrows, since you can't beat Ganon without them.
