(Installing another OS will void your warranty too, I think, so don't bother with paying extra for 3-year free support or similar if they'll refuse it anyway on the grounds that you changed back to XP.

That'll be very nice. Dell supposedly has a lot of spyware with its pre-installed software, so I really don't want to use that. But, they might void the warranty? That sucks. I want to keep the warranty. 
I should look into that.
