To me without question, one of the best guardians in this quest was the Dark Sorceror, A.K.A. Link's Grandfather, even if he qualified more as a miniboss fight. The paddle attack was absolutely hilarious and unexpected, because even though Link comments about it in the beginning of the quest and then his "Grandfather" threatens him with it in the caverns beneath the castle, you just didn't quite expect this monstrous paddle to come flying at you out of nowhere. Some of the other bosses, though cool and I respect the amount of work that went into creating them, were nothing I've not seen before. Island Sorrow borrowed from Facade for it's boss, and Level Two could be construed as similar to Bongo Bongo or Gohdan even if the wolf face was vastly different appearance wise and there were no hands. Level Four was obviously King Dodongo from Ocarina Of Time, Level Five was a variant of Mothula, and Level Six a variant of Kholdstare. Hothead was just a goofy fight to me though the concept of engaging him through multiple areas was novel. The Spirit Rangers were a cool concept, but their dialogue to me provided too many hints on how to attack them, and actually the final ranger's attacks were not entirely unexpected since often in a multiform or multitiered fight like that the guardian's final form often draws on skills and attacks of weaker, earlier forms. Actually the Rangers intercepting you was briefly foreshadowed by their meeting with the Commander in the Dream World since they said they were going to Season Isle to find that Triforce fragment; I was just unsure as to when and in what manner they would be encountered. The Commander was an interesting fight and seemed to borrow elements from Four Swords Adventures' fight with Ganon since he too warps you to an alternate space that you have to fight your way back from to resume the fight against him, but in the case of the Commander it was quite a difficult battle against him. I actually am more impressed with the efforts that went into making these enemies work than the results themselves which are still quite admirable, especially considering this was his first published quest.....
