Sure it is, it's political correctness that was the whole premise behind his suggestion.
SINCE SOME CAN'T COMPETE, LETS CHOP OFF THE HANDS OF THOSE WHO EXCELL.
You may be able to somehow separate the two, but logical people haven't got a chance of doing so.

You have a very valid point, Freedom, but for the moment, you have to admit, there have been people who have been referring to two different aspects of a screenshot: The Artistic Worth, as well as the Design Aspect. Someone can make a really poorly built screen with pretty graphics, and someone can make an extremely well designed and well thought out screen out of common graphics. It's a matter of practicality over eye candy. Some people enter to show off new graphics and other people enter to show off how well they design a screen. To some people, it's just "Throw whatever screen I've designed most recently in to show it off just for kicks," and to others it's "I want to WIN THIS. GET OUT OF MY WAY, FOOLS! I'M BOWLA AND YO ARSE IS ZOLA!" ... (I go to a very multicultural college. icon_razz.gif )

So while you can put everyone together in one group and expect them all to do their best to keep up with the class wiz kid that everyone hates, there are also other courses to take within this hypothetical classroom model, and not everyone is taking the same class. Some people are taking art, and some people are taking design.

Make of it what you will, I guess.

I don't think this suggestion would work in my opinion. But I do see that SotW is lacking a little bit lately. One of the big reasons is I know of a lot of designers that haven't been making anything as they are awaiting 2.5 to be released. Including myself. I say after the after release is released, there will be an increase in shots. I will be sending in my shots, that's for sure. But until then, SotW will be a little slow.

But again, the suggestion isn't bad, but I just don't think that many people would be that involved. Maybe the first week it would be good, but after that it will lose its appeal in my opinion.

Someone without a life and has nothing better to do? icon_lol.gif That sounds like me all over. icon_lol.gif Seriously, even though I help run Featured Quest of the Month (Named that for lack of a better idea. XD), it seems to go by quickly and gets little attention, obviously because of SotW and the Wii. I'd run it. icon_biggrin.gif I don't mind. I have no job, I'm on every day, and most of the time, all I do is chat here. XD I honestly wouldn't mind running SotW. It's not like I have anything better to do. icon_lol.gif

Let's see here, I am quite busy with my family and everything, but ya know what? I MAKE time for SotW. It's a very important thing for me. It's feels just GREAT seeing someone saying, Replace him, replace him. It isn't me that is causing this to happen to SotW. It's people who don't send shots in to me on time that makes it die. When I have only 2 shots like this last time, once again, there is no point in posting it. So, SotW can rest a little while until people can actually put time into it like I do. I'm not going anywhere as SotW Manager, because it is my job here on the site, that's my main reason for being here.

Oh, I wouldn't want ANYONE to replace you. Replacing makes people feel unwanted. icon_frown.gif And making people feel unwanted is bad. I should know- I feel that way myself. icon_frown.gif

...No. Just no. I'm sorry, but this is possibly the worst idea I have ever heard. Eww...

If anything needs to change, it's that we need to get someone without a life to run SotW. Hero Link is married with kids on the way. I'm not saying that makes him a bad person, but not exactly a good canidate to have a commitment with something that would run a very low priority in his life (such as getting online every week to start the new SotW). SotW 147 is nearly a week late now, and Hero Link is nowhere in sight. He hasn't even started a topic complaining yet.

Revfan9, this topic is about the SotW contest itself, not its management. Do try to stay on topic. That goes for everyone else too.

I know. That was my thought when you were being blamed.

I don't think any changes should be made to the competition though, since SotW does go through slumps. Think about the time: A new version of ZC is almost out. For some people, they may be getting close to mid-terms on the school front. Or maybe, they just don't feel like it right now. NoeL and Relic are great, but they're not unbeatable. Their shots should inspire you to try and do better, and make even better screens, and beat them.

So, I'd leave it as is.

Well, I know at least three shots are in for this week (last week?), and you haven't been online for over 48 hours as of now... So you can't blame it entirely on everyone else.

It's true that you didn't have enough submissions on Sunday, but SotW could have been up on Thursday if you were around to do it. I'm not faulting you for having (probably) more important things to do than be online, I'm just stating a fact. (Just because I've been waiting for SotW and it's not posted yet icon_razz.gif )

I'm not condemning you for anything though, as I'm getting what I paid for (as ShadowTiger and Nathaniel would remind us).
