Yeah, I've seen a few people doing it (Revfan, Shoelace, Taco Chopper, to name a few)... is it the new avatar fad or something?

It's cool, isn't it? It would be the craziest if EVERYBODY had card avatar!

I had one, too... But I don't know how to reduce file size under 20Kb... I can resize only pixels...

It started when Revfan9 made some cards and then made the link "open source ", so even more and more people started to use it. Some of them set them as avatars... And the infectation grows... Maybe someday there will be so many card avatars, that they will receive special rights, for example they will be able to clicked on to open them in a new page, so people can read what is written on it.

I made one for myself, too... But since I don't know the Yu-Gi-Oh rules and card mechanics, it became weird.

It was somebody on chat, that was offering to make a card for me, and I just made it instead. Then, I was like, might as well change my avatar as, I haven't changed it in months.

But really, I don't like Yu-gi-oh. But my friends are addicted to it, and we even made a video of Yu-gi-oh (I am the camera man): http://www.youtube.c...h?v=BlT0wtNcSFg

But all in all, it is just for good fun.

You should totally check out YuGiOh: The Abridged Series on youtube... CLASSIC! The best thing to come out of yugioh, cause the show, the movie, AND the cards all suck arse.

Thank you NoeL. I used a little program called Dante's Card Maker, and I used Google to find it. Takes half an hour to download if you have dial up..

And you live in Newcastle.. Were you affected by them floods last week? I saw the Hunter Valley on TV and I swore I could've seen a yellow submarine in there somewhere..

Nah I'm up in Coffs Harbour for uni. My friends houses got hit pretty bad, but my parents live on a hill, so they just got huge backyard waterfalls.

And half an hour??? Geez, just look up "magic: the gathering cards" on google image search and put your own picture in... unless this cardmaker thing lets you write all the text easily.

It does let you write your own text easily! which is good. I hope. I can't remember how big the program is, though.

well dial-ups around 1 min per meg, from memory... so around 20-30MB, unless you had other downloads going, or it was a p2p thing... or their server was busy... there's kind of a lot of factors...

Yesterday I was looking at the card selection at a local market, and it made me cry. The entire wall was plastered with Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon cards... which are complete bull****. For one, they had all these "special bundles" that all had random promo cards that the inserted to raise the price by 10$. The biggest hit though was that all they had for Magic the Gathering was two decks and one box of boosters. One box.

I can't fathom why on earth people prefer Yugioh or Pokemon above Magic.... I've played all three. Yugioh sucks because they make over powered cards, let people pay 100 dollars for them, than after they've tapped them for all the money they can, they put them out in "special packs" or decks either banning them, devalueing them, or making all new cards for people to splash out money for.

Pokemon is cool. I don't mind it, but I think it's rather a gateway drug into card games. You really can't make a true "theme deck" with Pokemon cards. It's pretty much just a simple game of my card combos are better than yours! It's not a bad game, but it gets a bit boring after a little bit.

Magic though... wow. I'm not as fond as the newer packs, but everything before 9th edition... god danmmit perfection. You can buy packs, and get good cards. Every one of the 5 colors has a specific type, (black destroys, blue counters, ect., though now they are completly messing that up with white cards that discard and wierd **** like that) and you can build a deck around nearly anything. Best of all, it's not really that hard to get good cards, so as long you don't play vintage, you shouldn't do to bad.

ANYWAY, I don't get it either really. Whatever makes people happy though, more power to em.

Man, after reading that I SO wanna have a Magic duel. My brother's like 23 and is totally into Yugioh, despite me telling him Magic is way better. He just gets off on making kids cry... he's actually pretty good at it, despite being a pothead/bodyboarder who you wouldn't associate with Yugioh anyway... weird.

Anywho, a couple of my friends are into Magic and I always play with them. Black's my favourite... or a black/red annihilation deck. I HATE playing against blue decks... counters suck arse. Bust your balls getting a sweet creature out, then they counter the spell! Get them out of the graveyard with another card, and they counter that too! Grrrr! Gotta get your whispersilk cloaks out early...
