Just one question: I don't do porn or anything related. Is the 18-plus forum really as free from such stuff as the rest of this place?
In general I agree with Bengal at least 100% about PureZC at the moment. But I'm willing to give this a try.

It's difficult to know for sure on the internet, but the bigger a lie it is, the harder it is to maintain it. That's all I really want to say about that.
But anyway, part of the point of this forum is that a lot of the stuff we're going to be talking about won't be of any interest to people under 18 anyway. Of course, it'll vary, but that's the general idea.
Yeah, it will be. It's specifically stated in the rules. Not everything for 18 and over has to be porn.

Hopefully it will work out and not blow up in your face like the others times you've attempted something for a "mature audience" (debate forum, Et cetera) on this forum.
You have too many kidos running around here. But kudos if it works.

I don't see how that can be a problem, seeing as they won't have access to the forum...

When I said "kiddos" I was referring to your "oh I'm mature, and 18+ but I'll suddenly have a ADHD rampage and ruin it for everybody else" hopefully it won't happen. Good luck

I do get where your feelings of doubt are coming from though, and it may very well be a big problem. Hopefully though, people will respect the rules and understand that having access to the forum is a privilege, and could just as easily be lost as it is to get it.

My dear Nate, look around you. Real life is like that everywhere.
Anyway, it's been pretty successful so far, because MD isn't inherently aggressive in nature. It's basically just another General Discussion.

Glad to hear its been successful then Hopefully things continue to go so, and I'm sure any issues will be handled. Just don't get discouraged if anything happens. Stick to your attitude/guns about it that you have at this very moment.

My status gives me no right to comment about it, but I'll just say that I'm not sure that I exactly understand why it's necessary. Since the rules are apparently the same as the rest of the boards, it's not like discussing cigars or the stock market or whatever is going to traumatize younger members, and most juvenile members are not going to be interested in the said discussions anyway. That's the way it's always been. This just strikes me as an incredibly strange thing for a forum to do, though I feel the exact same way about OtBP. I suppose it's because PureZC is not a very traditional forum. I was under the impression that the staff wanted to decrease the focus on general discussion and refocus on Zelda Classic however.
This brings up another thought. GM could have worked. It was only because a few members, including myself, who were acting irrational and immature that it was axed after two days. If it was a sign up forum, like the debate room, it might, just might work.
I'm not asking to get into Mature discussion prematurely, because I really have no interest, but I do think that the age regulation is a bit absurd when practically half the moderating team only turned 18 less than a year ago.
