Right, so it might be overusing the virtual memory, in order to fool all programs (as usual) into thinking it has 6GB of memory to itself.
Seems like a lot, eh?

yep, you should seriously have a minimum of 1 gig free on your Windows Partition and also on the partition your swap file is stored on.

Ok but what is a swap file? I'm thinking maybe two or three gigabytes on the partition with windows. Since I don't store my extra stuff there that should be plenty.

swap file is a reserved location on your hard drive and is used if your memory is full. (memory, not hard drive space) if your swap file cant be enlarged to fit whatever big program your trying to run then windows will pop up a error and close the big program down.
ensure you have at least 2 gigabytes of sape for the swap file and 1 gig for any temporary files that will be stored on your C:\
