Probably easier doing it with warps, though screen expensive.

The gargoyle location/animation frame could easily be controlled via scripts, the animated tower might be a bit more of a hassle, I don't know how well scripts can control normal tiles (you'd need a fair few FFCs to build a tower that size).

But yeah, it's possible.
