Oh, no worries, man. I probably won't seriously consider a collaboration until after I have a good portion of playable overworld, if not all of it. If anything, I could really just use some feedback on design choices.
Honestly, I don't know how it would feel in Zelda to blow open a wall, go in, find "You found a piece of Dodongo Leather and have sewn it into your bomb bag! Now you can carry 15 more bombs!" Technically, my ammo capacity upgrades work like Metroid's expansions, and that might be cool, but now, how to show that on the subscreen?
Another idea I had was to take the existing Zelda 1 Dungeon Theme, and remix it into the instrumentation and moods of the various dungeon themes from Ocarina of Time. Say in the Fire Temple, you might hear a really MIDI sounding male choir bringing up those left hand notes, with a sparse marimba and bell doing their best to play as little of that sixteenth note phrase as possible, over a light percussion of bells, tamborines, and shakers... It would be pretty cool, I think. (Either way, the Shadow Temple is getting the Z1 Dungeon music, literally as close to Moonlight Sonata as I can get it to sound.)
