Well, it was just made so the sprite doesn't disappear. It's only required for bomb cores that are actual bomb items. So, I set it to 1, so you'd actually always have one bomb. It automatically disappears if you use that one bomb, and replaces it. If you still have the one bomb, it acts normally.
