As promised, Russ and I are opening up applications for new staff members to join our team! It's been quite a while since our last round of hiring (almost three years, to be exact!). With these major changes to the PureZC site and the PureZC Discord server, we really need some extra set of hands to keep the activity high and help effectively moderate these PureZC venues. We are looking to hire up to three members this time around, so this is another great opportunity to join the team and help contribute to the site and Discord.
As a reminder, moderators are primarily responsible for overseeing member interactions on the discussion forums and Discord server, which includes reviewing reports, mediating member disputes, handling staff correspondence with members, and issuing staff actions for rule violations. Additionally, they are responsible for processing and approving database submissions and moderating any interactions in the reviews, ratings, and comments sections of the database.
An ideal moderator should possess a combination of technical skills, communication skills, and personal qualities. Technical skills include proficiency in using the forum and Discord platforms and understanding of PureZC's policies and guidelines. Communication skills are crucial for effective moderation, including the ability to convey clear and concise messages, respond to user inquiries or complaints, and foster positive interactions among members. Personal qualities such as patience, dedication, empathy, objectivity, and fairness are also important for maintaining a healthy community. These qualities result in a moderator being able to remain calm under pressure, handle conflicts with diplomacy, and have a genuine desire to help members by promoting a positive atmosphere on all PureZC venues.
If you are interested, you can submit your application by sending a private message, through PureZC, to me! You can make your case however you would like in your application, and please do not be shy in sharing your strengths and good qualities! Here's an optional list of questions you can use to guide your thinking and your application.
The applications for staff will be closed on Thursday, March 23rd at 11:59pm EDT. All the applications will then be reviewed by Russ and me, and we will make the decisions after a few days of deliberation. I wish everyone that is interested the best of luck and we cannot wait to receive your applications!
