The Legend of Zelda: Flow of Time - Remastered

Quest Version: 2.5 RC2

Description:
I released my first quest, The Legend of Zelda: Flow of Time, about a year ago. It had been a project of mine that I had worked off and on for several years. When I released it last year, I was so proud of it, and I thought it was perfect! While it certainly had it's merits, it was far from my original vision for the game. Version 2.10 of Zelda Classic had so many limitations, preventing the quest from ever reaching its full potential.

So I decided to begin working on a remake of my quest. Not only does the game see a major graphical facelift, it will contain many new features not seen in the old version. I have done to preserve what I liked best about the old version, while adding something new to every area. Even for those that completed the original version, I intend to make the new version a different, yet better, experience!

Story:
It was a legend handed down from generation to generation. The sacred Triforce would govern the land, and when in the hands of one with a pure heart, the world would prosper, when befallen to the hands of evil, destruction was evident. Legend says that every time the sacred Triforce was stolen by the forces evil, a descendant of the royal bloodline would stop the threat.
The Ancients decided to lock away the power of the Triforce forever by navigating the flow of time itself. The oracle of time, Aurelia, is now missing, and leaving only one portal to the past open, it is up to Link to save her!

Comparison
Here is a collage of screenshots from both the old and new versions, to showcase the graphical and gameplay improvements! Take note that each screenshot is of exactly the same area!

Demo Download:
I have just finished my demo of the quest showcasing the beginning areas through the end of Level 1. I'm not quite satisfied with the introduction scenes yet, but all of the CSs will be changed with the final release (intro CS's are always my least favorite thing to do!)

Only a few days ago i started your old version guess i will stop playing it(i finished level 1 and 2) and wait for the updated one because it looks so much better now.
Will it take very long to update this quest?

I'm going at a pretty good pace right now, but its hard to say! It depends on how many new things I decide to add. icon_smile.gif

I'd say it'd be finished in 4-6 months!

I'm confused. Where do I get the bomb bag? In the cave with that chest? I can't get to it...

This quest is stunning! Looks beautiful, plays well, large well designed areas.
Even the use of traps makes for clever puzzles. Good dialogue, I just
completed sword training 1, and can't wait to play more when I get home.
Excellent!

@Jared:

The bomb bag is in Level 1. icon_smile.gif
You just need to find one key (in the caves) to get to it.

@Cukeman:

Thanks for the comments! I'm glad you're enjoying it. icon_smile.gif

Well, then where do I find the key in the cavern?

On the main overworld, go up one screen and slash some bushes to reveal a pit you can fall in. As long as you've hit the switch in the cave, you can grab the key. icon_smile.gif

I hit that switch. But I can't push the blocks to get to the key chest.

Yep, just gotta enter the cave from a different point. From where you normally enter the caves, go down one screen. Then you'll see a bunch of bushes. Clear all of them and you'll find a hole you can fall in that puts you where you can open the chest.

Just a heads up, I was able to cross diagonally between the pits, and the screen
north of this is just a bunch of gibberish heart tiles.

EDIT:
Also, on the screen, just south of the bomb bag, the traps loaded up incorrectly the first time.
I don't remember if they were on the right side of the blocks, or they just couldn't travel
across the sand. I would have took a screen, but it was my first time and I didn't know it was
an error.

Anyway I haven't seen that error again, so...

EDIT 2:
Heh, I grabbed the bombs before I had the Bomb Bag, and next time I was in the room
they were gone. Good thing I could buy some in town!

EDIT 3: I noticed a few extremely minor tile errors (part of the mother is missing)
missing some border corners. No big deal though...
