I never got this item when I was playing OoT.. Could someone tell me what it's supposed to do, and how it differs from whistle warps?

Thanks.

Simply put, Farore's Wind is only usable on Dungeon DMaps (possibly caves, though I'm not sure). Anyway, it teleports you to wherever you entered the DMap.

So.. it.. . simulates an f6 continue, but costs magic? How silly.

An F6 continue resets all the enemies, while Farore's wind does not (I think). So, basically, you're trading magic for less of a chance for dying.

Actually, F6 continue doesn't reser enemies, just the F6 save... If you leave one enemy in a room and do a F6 continue, that one enemy will be there again, while doing a F6 save refills the room with enemies.

In OoT, it worked like this:
Use FW, and you have the option to create a warp point where you stand or to teleport back to the entrance. Use it the second time and you still can warp back to the entrance, or you can warp to the warp point you set last time or you can erase the warp point.
You get this item at the side of Jabu Jabu's lake.

With all that said, I don't know why FW is better than an F6 continue...

Farore's Wind is more useful if you're using save-points in your quest and there's no continue screen.
