I am, I have already drawn a tree and a bush, and a stone path.

One more time Ninelives, black and white don't count as colors do they?

So, lemme get this strait: 2 colors, not including the "background" color? Or does that count as a color?

Hahahahahaaha!! This is too funny. Start a contest, then make up rules that nobody could understand! Genius!

Well here's my 2 cents;

Black doesn't count as a color, otherwise it would be the black/white contest, which it isn't.
I think what he means is 2 colors per cset, or maybe using only one cset. You need something to seperate the sprites from the tiles. That would make more sense to me. But hey, it's not my rules.
Good luck.

That looks a lot like DragonAtma's monochrome quest, actually. But yeah, he's already doing one of this, so... too bad guys.

So are black and white counted as colours or not? because it wouldn't take much effort for me to downgrade my colour version of my FFA quest to the black and white tileset.

Sound's fun. I'm in.

So do you mean NES-type or Gameboy Pocket/Virtual boy- type graphics.
I assume the latter.

It can be any kind of graphics, so long as it only uses 2 colors.

Two colors? Pfeh. Four(and only those same four) I can take, much like Gameboy graphics; Trust me, I think the limit I said would be best when you want to create something with simple but with a little depth. Also, I can show what a GB Castlevania really should have looked like instead of a constantly white background(Where's black? It would make a much darker feel....)

Besides, I already have experience in that area. See?

You can still create some nice graphics even with that limit. icon_wink.gif

Four, actually. icon_razz.gif (black, white, and two greys)

I think by TWO COLOURS, he means 1-bit graphics. This means every pixel can ONLY be the first colour OR the second colour.

The quest will only have ONE cset (copied to wherever you need it) that will consist of: transparent colour, colour 1, colour 2 (where either colour 1 or colour 2 is the same as the transparent colour. It needs to be doubled for opaque tiles using that colour).

So,
1 cset
3 colour positions
2 colours.

Black and white DO count as colours! If you chose to use black/white as your colours that's ALL you can use.

The game uses ONLY one DMAP (maybe other dmaps for title/cutscenes?), using an 8x8 grid of rooms (half an overworld). The game will have a MAXIMUM of 64 playable rooms.

Is that right?
