Hey y'all, welcome to another tiny update thread!
Just like the last one, it's another big systems script completed. This time, it's potions! The script was based on Moosh's database script, but has a lot of rewrites and added stuff specific to Crucible Crest. Here's a short video showing off some of them...
- Red Potions: Classic, never out of style, they just put the hearts back in the bar.
- Green Potions: Because Crucible Crest uses a constantly regenerating magic meter, a straight up magic restoration potion doesn't really work for us. So instead, the green potion makes anything that costs magic free for the duration of the effect! This has the potential to make several items really devastating.
- Blue Potions: Combines the effects of red and green, just like the color blue does??
- Fairies: Works just like you'd expect as well.
- Gold Potions: My favorites, these make you impervious to damage for the duration of the effect.
Status effects from green / gold potions are integrated with cutscenes and scripted menus so that their durations never run down when the game takes control away, extending their use.
Of course, you need a shop to buy these from - if you played the demo, you may remember Maple was getting it ready.
Well now, she's finally finished up, thanks to some help from Sheik!
