Sword Explodey things

When using an animated sword beam (al a LttP), i cant seem to make those little explodey things when the beam hits something. my animation is 4 frames long, and the 2 tiles for the explodey things come right after those 4

Are the sword beam "shrapnels" appearing with messed up graphics or not appearing at all? I'm pretty sure when you set up the sword beam sprites it's supposed to be done in the following manner(if not using an animation):

Tile 1: Sword Beam facing up

Tile 2: Sword Beam facing right

Tile 3: Sword Beam shrapnel facing up-left

 

You mentioned that your sprite is 4 tiles of animation. If you set the sprite to use an animation rather than the original animation format, you might not have an option to set those graphics. I'm not entirely sure though, I know that using an animated sprite for other weapons eliminates other options such as direction-dependent sprites, so it could be so.

oh well guess it cant be helped. they just dont appear, so i'll live without them. its not like they break the look of the game
