I did not say they did it on purpose, probably someone happened to hit the right key sequence to delete them. You don't need to know how to use a computer in order to randomly hit keys and click things.

YOU SEE? dats why you have to always be very private with your things and stuff . i dont let nobody touch my computer unless they ask me permission and i trust them.. i have this p.c on lock nobody cant brake into it and delete my precious files .na-uh.

I don't think you really get what majora is saying. There's obviously no need to lock the computer.

Majora, I'm guessing you mean that no one in your family even knows how to turn it on?

Either way, I'd say you've probably got some sort of virus or WinAMP has gone goofy for whatever reason. I remember a couple months ago whenever I would start up yWriter it would run the installation executable for LessonPlanLocker, which if you've used either of those programs, you'll know that makes little sense. If you're using a PC, anything is possible.

I tried searching for the MP3s when I first suspected something was wrong, and they turned up in another directory. I went to that directory (Start -> My computer -> etc.) and the folder that Search Results said they were in was empty.

Not an uncommon problem, unfortunately.

Sounds like it's either a virus/rootkit, quite possibly put out by the recording industry, or a media player feature gone awry.
A few people suggested that Windows Media Player's "delete files from computer when deleted from library" option was to blame, so check for that, even if you never use it. You might also check for suspicious options in QuickTime, if you've got that installed.
