We should get back at Microsoft and put THEM out of business. It's what they deserve. Unfortunately, I basically HAVE to use Windows XP. It sucks. Anyone loyal to Microsoft clearly doesn't have a brain.

Microsoft is the biggest copycat ever. I honestly can't name one M$ product that isn't copied from something else.

I better stop now before I get into a huge rant.

I meant some new OS that EVERYBODY is going to want to switch to. I would switch to Mac if I could, but sadly I'm poor. icon_frown.gif

Linux is slowly gaining popularity, but the one issue that really pisses me off is the lack of hardware compatibility. I got lucky, most of my hardware works fine with Linux, as laptops have worse compatibility than desktop hardware, but I'm not sure if I'll be so lucky in the future.

It takes some adjusting for even the advanced users like myself, but what's even shakier than changing from Windows to Linux is upgrading your Linux version. You see, my HP printer worked perfectly with Linux until I upgraded from Ubuntu 7.10 to 8.04. The printer was jammed several times, and after I managed to unjam it the printer wouldn't even print, period. I had a major project to print out, too. But I managed to print it out some other way. Anyway, this morning before class, I was sitting here reading my overnight e-mail when suddenly my printer jumped to life and printed out my project. I pressed Cancel on the printer's console for each print job it attempted (I had attempted to print a test page from Wikipedia, to test out if it would work or not, and attempted to print my project three times, but it wouldn't even respond). I didn't waste any paper, but now it prints on demand.

Anyway, switching over isn't a bad idea. I'm really glad I did it, too.

EDIT:

Because of this thread, it's really made me think about the things Microsoft does, so...

http://www.freewebs.com/antimicrosoft

and

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=h_JVMKMleoA

I made both of those specifically from the content of this thread. Basically both the web page and the video talk about the content of this thread while not linking back to this thread specifically.
