It's been a over a month since I've done anything significant on this project. Had to replace a bathroom floor and move to a new apartment... I can summarize the new stuff with photos:

Tried off-screen rendering again because I realized I forgot to set the render target back to the screen last time.
Still having troble with offscreen rendering. Transparancy issues, I think.
Also, the goats need to be plumper in order to fill up the whole tile. It would be really out-of-style to have such tiny animals. So there needs to be some balance between proportions and poofiness. (If it was a cat, it would make more sense at that size.)

Spent the last week working on a palette editor in Java. I managed to make a program that reads and writes .zpl files and dump a few random palettes that can be imported into ZC. The main reason I want to do this is to make it easy to generate level palettes with consistent color feels and ramp progressions. It should also allow easy editing of palettes when you can look at a picture while you edit, but that isn't really a unique functionality. It also should allow you to recolor images to match the palette, and that will make it much easier to import graphics from other sources.
Colored Vires and added frames.
Colored Link's Awakening Spineys and added frames.

Spent the last month wrapping up a semester of school and moving, so it was a slow period. Managed to get a few new enemies recolored.

Started work on the GUI part of the palette editor. Learned how to use Mig Layout in Swing.
