The quest I'm in the process of making is based around saving Great Fairies(has this been done...?), not collecting the triforce peices. Would it be possible to, in 2.10, replace triforce pieces with fairies?

I know you can do it in 2.11 with the subscreen editor, but I don't wanna mess with betas icon_unsettled.gif

Would it be as simple as changing the Triforce's graphics? I really dunno where to start with it.

I know that you can, but all the fairies would look the same. I don't know how, though.

The sprites on the subscreen would get flipped and look weird.

Shucks.

I can just remove the triforce from the game(and subscreen), no?

You could remove it, but there'd be a big void space in your subscreen.

If you stuck with 3/6 fairies rather than 4/8 they wouldn't be vertically flipped, so you could get 6 fairies arranged:

Actually, since it is my first quest, I was planning on having it short with 3 or so dungeons. I guess it could work after all icon_biggrin.gif

Would I simply need to replace the triforce in the tile editor with the tile of my choice, and check a Quest rule for number of triforces?

Obviously, edit the triforce frame also.

Ugh...just realized I spelled Fairies wrong!

Took a little trial and error for getting the fairies in the right position (had to change Dmaps Levels quite a lot, the fairies in the picture are level 3,4,and 7. Anything else and it would be upsidedown/in the wrong place). Would this effect gameplay in anyway? (the out of order level numbers)

Yes, I think i might be messed up. You might get the wrong triforce pieces...

If you're only using three triforce pieces, you need to check the rules "3 or 6 Triforce Total" and "Big Triforce Pieces". Furthermore, big triforce pieces require you to use two tiles for each piece.

Sooo, your "triforce" sprite should look like half of a faerie:

and the triforce pieces should be numbered like this:

now your triforce pieces will appear like this:

Well, not really. But, you could use R when selecting your tile, and it'll flip it 90 degrees each time you hit R.

You can click Quest->Misc. Data->Triforce pieces to set up where each level's Triforce goes.

Play around with this until the level 1,2 and 3 pieces match the fairies. That way, with the "3 OR 6 Triforce Total" and "Big Triforce Pieces" rules checked, getting the 1,2 and 3 triforce will open ganon's guard.

Thanks for your help! If I can't get it to work, I'll ask for further help.

EDIT: I got it all down and working fine. Thanks, everyone.
