[The Satellite]

There is now a #streaming channel, where the bot "Now Live" will announce when streams go live! It's currently read-only, with only staff and the bot having access to post messages in there. There's a few streams listed to start, mostly pulled from the Stream Announcements thread, all on Twitch presently, apart from one. Here's the current list:

If you'd like your stream added to this list, let us know either in this thread or getting in contact with us on Discord! The bot supports Twitch, Smashcast, Mixer, Picarto, and YouTube Gaming. Just make sure you give us your channel name and what service it's on and we'll add you right in!

 

Similarly, if you want your name removed from the list, that's perfectly acceptable as well.

We've added another channel to the server, #currentevents! As the name implies, it's a channel more geared towards sociopolitical topics. As the Discord is a more lax environment, we didn't want to discourage said topics, but at the same time we wanted #general to remain a more casual environment. Thus, #currentevents was created! Remember, as always, all server rules apply, especially when it comes to respecting others and no harassment. The discussions that have occurred in the past have been usually civil, but just wanted to put that reminder there just to be on the safe side!

We've done some slight shakeup to the server. First of all we added a much needed #announcements channel for occasions like this; the section in #welcome about announcements has been updated to reflect this. Next, we added the "Information" and "Archives" categories, and renamed "Text Channels" to "Discussion." "Information" now contains #welcome, #announcements, and #streaming, while "Discussion" keeps the remaining channels... except #breathofthewild, which has been moved into "Archives." It can be read, but not posted in.

 

And on a smaller note, we've removed the "Away" voice channel as well.
