You can't learn to be artistic from reading a guide. It's about being creative, and going where your hearts want you to... not learning from a wall of text. It's not the way it works. It's not possible, is what I am trying to say. Not humanly possible even. You can get a guide on how to make a subscreen (first post of this topic... it's what the topic is about after all), but you cannot get a guide on how to make it look good. That's up to the artistic side of you, if you have one. If you don't, you're out of luck Unless someone wants to make one for you, that is

Anyways here's the question. I know how to put a counter next to an item (bombs, arrows, etc) on the Active Subscreen. I've seen some people who have done it on the passive subscreen for the selected item, but I can't figure out how to do this. Is this something they've scripted or is it simpler and I am just missing something?

I skimmed this thread and didn't see this mentioned, so I expect I should warn people: Avoid using System Colours for counters! Certain CSets and some enemy types (e.g. Gleeock, Diddigger Kid, BS Dodongo, and others) will conflict with this (probably a bug) and make them invisible.
This invisibility doesn't revert when you leave the screen with the conflicting CSet either, although changing DMAPs and direct warps seem to cure it until you run into it again.
On the other hand, CSet 11 seems to be one of the safest to use.
Another tip: You can use Selector One to pass between objects anywhere on the subscreen, so you can have two or three areas that separate items into categories instead of just one big block.

Hey guys! I just have a question. Can you copy some in a subscreen and paste it on the same subscreen? (sorry if I missed it somewhere).
Never mind, I found it.
