There's other ways around it. Such as you don't need to finish Lv.2 to reach Lv.3

And to this day, no one has told me how they are doing this.....

Comparing a 2.10 first made quest from someone while comparing to a 2.11 quest made by 2 highly well known Quest makers in what they exile in. That's a not a fair comparison to me.

Hero of Dreams was certainly interesting although it became very easy, the end meaning after level 6. There was also a rather odd choice of MIDIs. Let us compare the MIDI from level 1 which is a real song to Level 8 which is Booster's Tower from SMRPG. Don't get me wrong but the Midis were off at times, and the dialog was a bit too cheesy for my tastes with the whole Link's "Grandpa" raising him to be an idiot.

Lost Isle though, is another story. I had to ask for help a numerous amount times to know what on earth I was supposed to do and when I got there, I may have to ask for help again because of a puzzle. The quest doesn't always feel the same too. It becomes being lost on island to something else entirely. The difficulty while being high, never went from insanely hard to easy or vice versa.

Overall, I'd say LI though as I said, it's not a fair comparison.

I did it. icon_heh.gif

I skipped Lv.2 to enter Lv.3, and finished Lv.2 afterwards. There is another way to reach the castle, just right of where the blue bushes are.

Both quests have great qualities to them. The thing I liked about HOD was what some did not like and that was the occasional humor added in to it. It may not have been ROF hilarious, but it was a nice touch. Even LI has a little humor added in so far (fleshy thing- at least I thought it was a little funny). I've only made it through the first level of LI so far. And so comparing the two quests, the thing I think they have in common is the backtracking. It's not a bad thing, it can make a small level a bit more difficult if you have to go through it 2 or so times (though I don't think there's a small level in either of these two). I must admit though, running around a level too much gets kind of annoying (OUCH's Arm.4ever). One other thing that HOD had that I thought was good was the brain power it took to solve a lot of the puzzles, so much that I missed an easy one overthinking it. I'm sure I'll run into some brain dusters in LI as well. Both are great visually. The only thing I was disappointed with HOD was how the first level had Dream On as the MIDI and I thought maybe all the levels would have something (dream oriented) to that effect, but eh... oh well.

Well that's it for my $1.24 (inflation is crazy, I remember when it was two cents)!

You are correct deathbringer. It doesn't feel very fair to compare LI and HOD because one is a first quest for an older zc version and the other one is a group project of 2 of the best quest creators around here. But I like comparing games so I do it anyway. XD

GRAPHICS
HOD doesn't look bad. It is just that it looks like every other Pure quest. icon_unsettled.gif
LI on the other hand is the best looking finished zc quest. The overworld could be prettier but I have no complaints.
Winner: LI

MUSIC
HOD had some fantastic midis but also some awful midis I couldn't stand so the overall score suffers because of that. Music in LI was more like a backround music but it didn't stand out in a good or a bad way which I guess was the intention. Let's just say that HOD had some better midis but overall the music in LI was more fitting to the quest.
Winner: LI

GAMEPLAY
This is a wide area to compare. I will just say that both had great puzzles, great new ideas and great overworlds. It's the dungeons that set these 2 quests apart. The dungeons in LI blow everything else out of the water I mean seriously people, the 4th level in LI alone is something so impressing that I I.......
Winner: LI

STORY
Neither had much of a story. Ok HOD had but but many times I was shaking my head at the cheesy lines and stupid jokes (diarrhea, lololol!!!) ugh. The story in LI progressed slowly but every time there was a cutscene I was clued to my chair. HOD had good presention too and the story wasn't bad but the stupidity of the story and jokes bothers me. I can't say which game I prefer story wise.
Winner: Tie

ENDING
The final battle in HOD was a cool idea but the battle dragged on too long and wasn't graphically impressive. And the ending cutscene well nothing really interesting happened during the ending. LI's ending on the other hand was great and exciting. Maybe not as awesome as MMDWR's ending but nonetheless very impressive and rewarding. And the little surprise at the ending! Haha! great idea guys!
Winner: LI

OVERALL
I'll just say this: HOD feels like a good custom quest. LI feels like a good GAME. Both are good quests however and both deserve praise for that little thing called effort alone.
