What is your favorite greeting

I tend to stick with the formal 'hello', but I've been starting to lean towards 'hi'. For a time, I was saying 'yo' or 'sup', just because of how ridiculous they sound. And, with one friend, I used to go 'So... we meet again.' Yeah, I'm weird.
Recently, though, I've been moving into nods and smiles to greet people. Of course, the smile's a lot more personal, and the nod's more formal. They're a lot less effort, and it means you can greet someone quickly, without having to lift your hands or actually open your mouth. It's still kind of difficult to return a smile greeting when the other person turns away.
But still, just so you all know I'm weird, I'll give my favourite of the greetings I've ever used. I used it for a while three years ago, and still occarsionally now. It's "Greetings, Earthling". Damn, that's fun, especially with the bow I attached to it. Try it, guys!

"Hello" seems to work quite well.

Whenever I think about and I want to make a greeting special, I'll say, "ello!" It's kinda casual, but it's also unique and not at all disrespectful. But in practice, more often than not, it's just a lazy, "heya."

Apparently Men in Tights isn't everyone's cup of tea.
I usually say hello/hi/ello/elo/where's the beef?/sup.

Don't worry tim, we'll eventually have a "what's your favorite way to say goodbye" and then you can post another one.
Anyway, I usually go with something like 'howdy'. Or 'penis' sometimes, because I like to see what people's reactions are to that.

I usually just say hi. Of course, I say other things depending on the person. Like "Heyyy" or "Hi (Insert insider here)", etc.

I always greet people by reading a random page out of Homer's Odyssey. Sure, it's kind of bulky to type out and can really derail conversations, but its how you know it's actually me and not my evil twin who is secretly plotting world domination. Think of it like Justin DRM.

I usually say "hi", "hey guys" or "hey" on IRC and Skype and to my irl friends. Usually to teachers at school it's either "Good morning" or "Good afternoon". That's it really lol
In addition to this, I've recently started greeting people with the phrase: "ello, ello, ello" in a very formal received pronunciation accent. The responses are hilarious.

"Hi there" or "Hello there"
Especially with girls. I've found it's a lot less awkward that way.

Most times it's just hello, bonjour and greetings!
However, depending on how well I know the person or my level of general boredom I get into more obscure things such as:
"Greetings and salutations! I see that once again you have evaded assassins sent for you this long night"
"Hello and well met! May your enemies know defeat upon the field of battle"
And if I'm meeting someone as they are just leaving I'll even pull out the classic "Hello -wait! It's dangerous to go alone, take this!" and offer them something laying around that can resemble a weapon, such as a carboard tube or a wooden spoon.
