Firstly please advise if this is not posted in the correct place.
I need some help with a couple of issues. One is my screen
keeps changing size so I can't see the menu at the top. I
am running 190sr. 210 will not work on my pc. I'll get into
that later. When this screen issue comes up I have to quit
and reload the program. When the ZC program runs my
controller does not respond correctly, sometimes link just
takes off all by himself, sometimes I can't turn him correctly.
I have configured the joystick to work as a keyboard, it does
not recogize my joystick. The keyboard works better than
my joystick. That said I must tell you I am new to this Classic
software so I'm sure these issues are mine to work out, I
just need assistance. Now about the 210 version for windows.
When I try to launch it, it either just plays credits and wont
open, or it gives me the mesage "no supported timing" and
the screen goes blue. I then am left with no monitor with
the program running. I really think the concept
of quest creation is incredible. I know the quest has a seperate
forum so I will be brief about this. Basically I would like
to know what would be the easiest quest for me to edit.
I tried opening the the default quest but it wanted a password.
Again this is unreal that we can play this game with a new
skin, if you will, on a PC, and make your own quests.
Thanks to all!

Are you running Windows Vista? It's known to cause problems when running 2.10...

I am running windows XP home version 2002 sp2. I have 2 Pcs with this OS and they
both crash when I try to run 2.10 for windows. I am running 190 now and learning.
I have played around with Z-Quest a little. I am spending as much time as I can learning
the basics of both classic and quest. This is a blast, I wish I had more time for it.
I am wondering if I will be able to use my Photoshop background in making graphics
for my own quest someday.
Thanks

I don't know about that issue you are having, but as for quest creation: You cannot edit 1st 2nd or 3rd quest. They are password protected, only ZC Developers know the pass. You can however make your own quest, or grab a tileset from our quest database. Play around with tiles, and look for the tutorials in the other forums. icon_smile.gif

First, make sure you're running the 2.10 Windows version, and not the DOS version. If you still get weird messages from your monitor, try running ZC in windowed mode (pass in -windowed as a command-line parameter) as that tends to solve a lot of ZC's hardware compatibility problems.

Lastly, if that still doesn't work, download the latest beta from www.shardstorm.com and see if it still gives you the same problems.
