Just a quick question: Does anyone think 64x80 trees are way to big?

As long as it is proportionate... Of course not.

Well...I made them for a RMXP project and figured I'd resize them and redo the coloring and some stuff. Maybe not.

Any size is fine, as long as it fits with the rest of the tileset. I can't say if it's too big or too small without actually seeing it in use.

Like Daniel said, it really depends. Show us the screen, and we'll tell you.

Well, here's the tree. I havn't put it in a ss yet, but I'll throw it in a fakie in a minute. It'll go with my SoW tileset too.
edit: No, it's definitely not too big. Submission!

My trees are 76x96. ^_^; (Width x Height)
Yes, I know that's not a multiple of 16: the treetops are 6x5 combos and the base is 4x2 combos. They overlap on one row of combos.
It works, but you have to have a lot of space if you want Link to walk behind them. Having a 4x2 combo area where Link is completely obscured is pretty bad for gameplay. I tend to make most of that area unwalkable, especially if there are enemies on the screen.

Generally, I think that big of a tree would work better in a game with no screens, however if used sparingly, I think it'd to fine. It could use a darker shade of green, though, or just a bit thicker line on the shaded side

Thanks for that bit of info.
