AHHHHHHHHHH. (Part 2)
Very fun mix and match of starters and the open world aspect is incredibly cool. Throwing pokéballs on the overworld? Revolutionary.

This one also looks really fun! A free-roam Pokémon game? Where the battles happen in the OW? Seriously exciting.
Minor lore thing - those Pokéballs look kind of modern to me, but in the anime the Pokéballs from Professor Oak's childhood are, well, not modern at all. But still, differing canons, and also they're retconning it probably. Just a silly little lore thing to complain about
I suppose it also rules out an 'Origin Episode' in BDSP (cos Arceus is already in this one), but that opens up a space for a Darkrai or Shaymin episode so I'm also cautiously optimistic about that.

Oh hey, look at that, innovation. Some things look slightly awkward, but for the most part, I'm excited. This feels like what they promised and then failed to deliver on with Gen 8's wild area.

This does seem fairly interesting from a gameplay perspective. Almost makes you wonder why they didn't try this sooner.

I'm not going to lie, I don't see a whole lot to be excited for just yet. At least they actually showed us gameplay, sure, but it looked kind of choppy and they didn't really showcase much. It's "different," but I need more substance before I know if I'm truly interested. I'll keep an eye on it for sure, but I just really hope it's not GameFreak looking at Breath of the Wild, going "let's do that," and slapdashing the Pokemon IP onto it.
