Okay, now that I submitted that batch of art I was talking about, I'll probably work on this more tomorrow.  Plans to finish all the walking poses, holding item poses, and probably make the carrying variation too, since it's basically just an edit.  Maybe even the un-held shield sprites too, for anyone who's interested, because of button-shield scripts.

those are pretty nice.  I think they could use a bit of movement in the shields.  it's something to try, at least.

 

oh, and the cowlick it a bit too stiff, to me.  a little bit of movement in there would be good, too.

Just took care of the movement for the cowlick, but as for the shield movement, I'll look into it!  I forgot to post this to show you guys how the sheet is going to be organized.  Like this!

So basically...it'll only grow vertically from this point on, which means I'll end up having to reduce it to a link at some point, for breaking the forum image dimensions XP.  Yes, it is still locked on a 16x16 grid, so you can pull into ZC easily, without having to use S to move the selection around.  You're definitely required to use the arrow keys to move the sheet down, though xD.

Ugh, this took a long time, because I was struggling to make things not move TOO much.  That's the most important thing you have to look out for when making things move; they shouldn't be jumping across the sprite, but rather have smooth animation.  That said, shield movement is out of the question in this case, because just moving the shield one pixel makes it look like it's jumping around.

 

So after all that, we finally have up and right.

I need to finish all the walking tiles with the shields next, but like I said, I wanted to go ahead and do the carrying sprites now, since they were literally just quick, easy, streamlined edits.

Y'know, looking at it, the sprite in whole might look better without the whites of the eyes.
