Soemtimes when I press CTRL F, a finder pops up, I type in the word i want to find, but, I dont get any results, and I KNOW the word is in there. Like, I type in "the" it doesnt direct me to where it is.

Why doesn't it direct me to where "the" is? <(example)

Anyone help?

.... did you hit Enter afterward? Not all browsers search as soon as you start typing.

Were you doing a google image search, and trying to search a page? You have to click the page below the bar, before you can do that, or else it'll just search the bar. icon_shrug.gif

If this ain't the case, i dunno. icon_heh.gif

Make sure you set the direction. If you're at the top of the page, your browser certainly won't find anything above that. Click CRTL+F, click down, and click find next.

First of all ... you mean in IE (Internet Explorer), right? Or Firefox? Opera?

In IE a little window pops up that asks you what you're searching for, while Firefox has a bar at the bottom... icon_shrug.gif

Try clicking on the page, or text first.
That usually works for me on IE and FF.

Then there is no reason why it should not be working.

Reinstall Firefox. FF has more botched installs than any other Windows app I've ever seen.

Firefox eh ... well, reinstall is an option, you could also try selecting some text on the page at random before pressing CTRL+F so that the focus definitely is on the current page.

Other than that, take out the "Match case" checkbox if it's in, and try the "highlight all" - does it still not work?

Also, once you've typed in the search box it's CTRL+G to jump to the next occurence.
