My mom Cynthia wished a lady God Bless You after the lady sneezed at a casino in North America and this lady verbally flipped out so bad Security escorted her out.
It's called nervous breakdown, or maybe she is one of that superstitious that prefer sentences like "break your leg" instead of "good luck"

People need not be offended by people who aren't causing any problems and meaning well. That's my take.
how DARE you

Sounds like the lady just wants to be the center of attention and probably looks for little things to flip out about.
Hopefully your mother doesn’t let one idiot change her polite behavior towards others. The lady needs to get her head out of her anal sphincter and realize the world doesn’t revolve around her and not to get offended over good intentions.

I'm not offended, I'm just on a god-free diet.

You're only offended when you choose to be. So when you get offended, blame yourself.

Sounds like a general lack of emotional intelligence? Understanding the intent behind another's actions and looking at them in context should inform one's reaction to them. But it seems that didn't happen here. Yikes.
Whenever I encounter something like this, I try to use attribution theory. I.e. was this interaction a reflection of who this woman is as a person (internal attribute), or is she just having a really bad day and lashing out (external attribute)? In this regard, we tend to be more harsh towards others than we are ourselves; for example, "I cut that person off in traffic because I'm going to be late for work!" (external) as opposed to, "that person who cut me off is such a jerk" (internal).
She sounds like a piece of work, but I'm in active pursuit of giving more people the benefit of the doubt and remembering that everyone's life is just as nuanced and complex as mine. Serenity now! God bless us, everyone.
