For those of you who didn't know this, it has been one year since I started making this quest. Obviously because of laziness and also tons of effort is the reason why it is taking this long. But is it a bad thing? I really don't think so. The first one took about 9 months to make, and look how it turned out! (That's supposed to be an insult because of how bad it is.

Anyways, I do also want to say really no progress has been made since my last update (I feel so bad). I guess the inspiration is loosing me, but I'm for how much effort has already been put in I'm not going to delete it. Besides I've gotten scripts in there like crazy! XD

If anyone here would have any advice on reviving inspiration to continue the quest, please give! I don't want this to turn unfinished yet not deleted like my first actual ZQuest that no one knows about. :P I think all of us quest creators understand this uninspired feeling to continue, but I just hope there is some way to re-inspire myself to get back in...

On the inspiration front, one thing that has sometimes helped me is working on a different aspect of the quest. Maybe you're working on a bunch of dungeons and getting tired of it, so shifting to overworld design might reinvigorate you. Or maybe you're sick of level design completely and might have a good time working on subscreens, or story scenes and dialog. Trying something completely different can break up this feeling that you're just doing the same old thing and inject some new energy into the project.

Best of luck!

Well lately I've been working on the overworlds like crazy because of layering and more details. And because I just finished three, I'm working on my third overworld and I'm just bored of it. I guess cause of what you said, I could start on my third dungeon and see how I feel after completing it.

Thanks Aevin!

Congrats on your one year anniversary! I wouldn't really be worried about motivation loss since it happens to all of us, but good luck on the rest of your project!

(Also, sorry for not writing a lot, since I'm still over in Portugal, I got quite a bit of limited time)

I have had difficulty getting inspired to work on my quest as well; I have my highs and lows. When I have my low moments, I actually play a quest or two to take a small break from my quest. By playing another quest, it allows me to see another person's point of view. This can help inspire me to make my quest better. In a way, I utilize some ideas that where used in someone else's quest that I would of never thought for my quest.

It is even more awesome when the quest gives you the quest password at the very end. This is a very special treat indeed because it actually helps me learn more aspects about how to learn zquest. Because of "Isle of Rebirth", I learned how to make secrets affect more than one room.

It really helps when you actually have someone else play your quest and that person tells you their thoughts and feelings on your quest. This really helps motivate me to continue my project.
