Here is a link to my Youtube LP channel:

I am currently working with Zelda Classic to make this first LP possible since recording off of NES is...a bit dubious at the moment for me. Regardless, I have quite a nice starting line-up of projects I'm working on back to back and I plan on doing more. Feel free to subscribe and follow along with me during these challenges! And suggest more for games I ask if I can't come up with any challenge ideas of my own!

Current schedule:
Legend of Zelda - 1st quest: 3 heart run, no potions.
Quake II: Limited gear (shotguns, machineguns, grenades only, with armor, health pick-up limitations).
Descent 1: Restricted arsenal with no picking up of death spew.
Beyond Good & Evil: No health usage/minimalist run.
Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past: Minimalist run w/ no potions.
Final Fantasy VII: Materia class-based run.
Contra 3 - The Alien Wars: No death run.

I'm almost done with the LOZ Let's Play challenge so my next one will be the Quake 2 Limited Gear challenge. I will be using v.26 of the Quake 2 Evolved source port engine to play Quake 2. I know there is an awesome Quake 2 Berserker mod which changes the game to an almost Doom3 like quality, but I feel it changes too much about the game to be worth getting, so I'm sticking with Evolved for my playthrough.

I've been toying around with the idea of doing a challenge playthrough of a custom ZC quest, but I'm not sure which ones are the good ones worth trying. Or ones that could even be attempted to try for a 3 heart run. Suggestions?

The most important thing to do when picking out a quest to 3 heart is realizing how the creator balances their enemies. If you have a quest where combat is reliant on tanking damage in the late game, you're going to put yourself through some real hell. If the quest is well balanced it's always much easier to 3 heart than one that isn't. This is why a 3 heart run of Link's Quest for the Hookshot for example is pure suicide while a 3 heart run of Isle of Rebirth is just a really over the top challenge despite IoR being much harder than LQftH.

So any suggestions in the 'not so suicidal' range? lol

A few videos away from completing the Legend of Zelda challenge LP, I will be starting up the Quake II LP right after that.

I have one challenge I can think of, if you'd be interested:

Finish Super Mario Bros. 1 not with the most, but the least amount of points possible. I believe you can get through the game and only be forced to collect a single coin while dodging enemies and power-ups.

Easier variations:

"Pacifist Run": Complete the game without killing any standard enemies.

"Big Run": Collect the first mushroom you see, and beat the game as big Mario without taking any hits.

"Small Run": Beat the game as small Mario without taking any hits.

"Coinless Run": Beat the game collecting only one coin.

I do plan on doing the original Mario Bros. No idea when it'll happen though. I wonder where that forced 'coin' is though. Doing a mix of coinless and small mario might be interesting...and painful.

This guy is a champ! And not just because I went to High school with him! Shame on you Matt for breaking your three heart run in part 9 however, but I'm still excited about some of your other challenge Let's Plays. I've subscribed and hope other people will too. Him and his wife can be funny.

Hey! I never did say I was an AWESOME player. I only said that I'd do these challenges and see if I beat the game at its own...game, or if the game beats me! In this instance, LOZ beat me. But I'm still going to complete it, just with..slightly modified challenge rules while still remaining interesting to watch. I'll put up my challenge analysis in the next video, so stay tuned for that!

With my 11th video, I have closed the chapter on my first LP! Legend of Zelda is done! I didn't quite finish it like I'd wanted, but that is discussed in my challenge analysis at the end of the final video. Now to move onto my next project: Quake 2: Limited Gear Run!
