Just thought I'd like to join in.

In response to Siguy's post, I have to agree with him that all we're doing is adding kindle to the fire. Hergiswi obviously likes to do this, and may even like to see our negative responses. So, why respond and flame him any more, when it'll just make him want to do that kind of stuff more? Not only him, but Jaivaz as well? Quote from one of Nathaniel's topics:

QUOTE
Some of you are aware that there exists some former members who sign up accounts to cause trouble on the forums, mainly during after school times (3-5 PM EST). My advice to everybody is very simple, and heed these words very carefully:

Ignore these people. Don't give them the time of day, because if you do, you are only adding fuel to the fire.

By responding to them, you give them the satisfaction they want. They are looking for attention. Even if they are talking about you, still ignore them. Don't take the bait. Us admins and site staff know how to take care of these individuals, so just leave it to us. Responding to them doesn't help the staff in any way, since it only adds more chaos to the forums and makes our community less pleasant. I am considering also giving private warnings out to those who do respond to these unruly individuals. Ignoring such warnings could result in harsher consequences depending on the degree of the problem.

(From THIS announcement.)

If we ignore people like this, they may eventually stop, seeing as they're getting absolutely nowhere. Sure, it was a hateful thing of them to do, but don't lash out at them for doing it. It'll only add more kindle to the fire that was already started.

Also, the question at hand from this topic has already been answered. So frankly, I see no other reason to post in this topic other than me trying to set a few things straight.

Anddddd this reminds me of what I was going to do today. Right.

Remember this?

Yeah. I do believe this has gone far enough already. If any of the other staff members want to reopen it, I've got no problems. I'm doing this on my own and going off a announcement from a month back.

Topic closed until further notice.

Edit: Skipper, remind me to check the coincidence levels in the air.

At this point, I say the topic needs to remain closed for good. I am glad that people are remembering my advice. Since this concerns a very sensitive matter, I will refrain from giving out warnings to people, as I wouldn't feel completely right about it this time. While Hunter P Brown reacted in an emotional way in this topic, remember that he was very directly affected by Rose's passing, being a very good friend of his. So his reaction at least is very understandable. Dealing with the death of a close friend is never easy if you have a conscience, as most people do. But for many others in this topic, the only thing that was accomplished was more anger and more satisfaction for the callous attackers of our normally fine community. So who won? The callous attackers, of course. There is a lesson learned there.

To close on a better note, I would like to say this: To let Rose rest in peace, we will all need to find a way to finally be at peace. If we can't change others, then at best we can look out for ourselves.
