I'll get right to the point here:

Fire shoots from Link, and when it hits a solid, it explodes into a fire ring.

Basically just stuns all enemies in the room, like an easy Super Quake.

It's actually not that easy.

Item scripts are a pain to do moving objects with because you must integrate a global script to do the movement for you. Not only that, but it is also a pain to damage or stun ememies via script.

I won't script it. I've always had trouble with scripting projectiles.
