I'm sure that'll depend on what you do with your Chobin Hood Link icon_wink.gif

I think it needs more shading by the way.

Oh, and sorry I'm posting and not helping, I don't actually know how 32x32 Link works.

Wait! I forgot that I had the same problem awhile ago and figured it out. Lemme try and see what I did. Ok, for four animations I used 9 tiles. The 2nd, 4th, 6th, and 8th tiles on the 1st and 2nd row were the middle of the character sprite. Yes you will have to realign it to make the exact middle of the sprite line up on those spaces. Now, the 1st spot/tile is the left side of the first animation, but now here's where it gets tricky. The 3rd, 5th, and 7th spots share the animations, for the 3rd spot in the left area of the tile you will need the part to the right of the middle of the sprite, then on the right half of that same tile you will need the part left of the middle of the 2nd animation. So you will need to be doing a lotta Copy + Overlap. The 9th spot just has the right part from the middle of the last animation. Now, when you're setting up the sprites you need to select the bottom middle tile of the first sprite. If I confused you just let me know, it took me a LONG time to figure all of that out, seems a lot more confusing than it should be.

My sprites were much thinner so it's not to good of an example for the shared animation tiles, but hopefully it helps.

^ yeah um that is kinda confusing. Do you think you can make a little video tutorial of what you mean? That would clear it up some.

But I do think what the problem is, is a bug in the link tile mod. Because the first time I added this sprite it worked properly then it started this Cr**
And Matthew told me to unclick the big link hit box, well I did that but no change. Oh and my sprites are 24X32

Hmm, could you PM me your tiles then? Just to use in the video, I wouldn't use them for anything else. Just to make sure you can absolutely get it?

First one: Showing right from wrong. Notice the spacings.

Second: Grid over the first one. Notice how the 3rd and 5th spots on the "Good!" rows have parts from two animations in the same tile! Crazy ain't it? But, sadly, that's how it's setup. Take time to notice how I moved around the tiles to center each animation across a 3 tile radius, but only using 7 tiles! (It's late and I'm not tired and kinda hyper hence all the "!"s.)

Third: The completely orange tiles show what tile you need to click on when setting up the Link sprites, after hitting X twice though of course.

Oh, and I had to change up the palette, so those might not work ripping in. I had to do that cause you gave me a .png which, in ZC, never comes down to 16 colors. So I changed it to .gif and reduced the colors down to 16.

Ok, well if you still need a video tell me. Cause I'm kinda busy and won't be able to get to it by next weekend, but I'll still get to it if you need it.

No I don't need it, but some might, so I say make it when you can and add it to the zc,zq video help thread. Thanks again for your help!

Here's a more mathematical solution for you.

Shift all of your tiles 8 pixels to the right.
I'm guessing that you set up Big Link's tiles like a 2x2 combo square, but he doesn't animate like that. There needs to be an 8 pixel buffer on both sides of your tiles (Which may make them hard to edit... I'd recommend using an outside program and saving your pallette).
IPB Image

The squares represent 32x32 pixel boxes... that little pink rectangle in the upper corner is the 8 pixel buffer. (Once you finish designing your tiles, you can erase the squares with your transparent color)
The white selection square shows which tile you need to select to make Link animate properly.

...[excised for relevence]...

Draw your tiles in a non-ZQuest program, and then shift them over 8 pixels.

Funny... I lost points when I submitted these tiles in that format, even though it was correct!
