A game of Chess against the first person to reply.

R/r: Rook
H/h: Horse (Knight)
B/b: Bishop
K/k: King
Q/q: Queen

Upper-case is white, lower-case is black. White always goes first. I'll be black.

To move, just copy-paste the game board into your next post and wrap it in a Code tag so it's evenly spaced, then erase one of your (upper-case) letters and replace it with a space, and put that letter somewhere else on the board, as long as it's a legal move. To make things less confusing, you should probably say what kind of piece you moved on each post, and if you took one of the other guy's pieces or not too. And always ALWAYS announce "Check" if you put the other guy in check. It's a rule.

I assume you know the rules of Chess. If not, Wiki them. I want a serious player if at all possible, not someone who will make this into a joke. Chess is serious business.

Forgive the crude method of playing this game of Chess though. It's better than nothing at least.

White (upper case) goes first, so as soon as someone moves a white piece they'll be my opponent and we can start.

French defense? Sorry, I'm not so good with Chess terms. (I guess I could look it up, but meh.) In fact it's been ages since I've played. Knowing you you're gonna eat me alive though, but I don't believe in holding back, so prepare for a fight.

Chess federation? Zounds. So does that mean if you win or lose this game your standing/ranking/whatever will change? Or do internet games even count? Or does it not even work like that?

Okay, so if pawns have no souls, that means they can be whatever I want them to be. In that case, all my pawns are Bill Gates.

Uhh, no. doesn't work like that. Rankings only through tournements and the like. ..at least that's how it used to be. I only did a few of those though, when I lived in the bay area.


And yeah, probably vice-versa too. Chess players would make good programmers. Both involve lots of problem solving.
