(This was originally just a post about an atheist protection seal. It has been altered for a new purpose; The original post has been re-posted below.) Before you even THINK of religious debate here, take into account the following:

Every time a religious debate starts, everything that can be said will be said, and nobody on either side listens anyway.

As you can clearly see, nobody ever listens to ANYTHING, and all that EVER happens, is that it becomes inflamatory and locked. It will happen. It's been happening for three years. I'm ashamed we haven't learned since then.

ANY form of thread seeming to be religiously based is at risk of this. So to summarize:

NEVER, EVER, EVER COMMENT TO DISPROVE ANOTHER'S RELIGION, OR LACK THEREOF!!! It CAN and WILL turn into a religious debate.

Please, for your own safety, and the safety of everyone in the forums... don't make religious debate topics or sensitive topics like this. And if they do get made, leave them to die.

I've been trying to break up the arguments for God only knows how long, but my comments always fall on deaf ears. I tried the atheist protection badge, but nobody used it. (Shows how much people care about the community...) I tried making a comment to say 'STOP THE FIGHTING! IT'S DUMB!' But only a few people even bothered reading my freaking post.

Why do people want fighting like this?!

I'm requesting this topic get locked (and pinned) so it doesn't turn into a debate too. I want it to stand as proof. Clear proof that we haven't been able to, and NEVER WILL be able to handle this kind of topic... no matter what 'new information' you think you have, or how 'different' it's gonna be.

I'm sick of religious debate, especially the Christians vs. Atheists fights. And I don't like it when they pick fights and debates with each other.

Rex himself complains of being hassled, so I went into photoshop and made this:

Put simply, Atheists who are willing not to fight Christians/Jews/whatever, and want not to be bothered, should put this in their signatures. It should ward off the smarter of us from attacking, if we take the time to read the signature. If one of us attacks they will be made a fool of.

However, if one of you should attack while wearing this... then you are the one being made a fool of. It's simple - if you don't attack, there's no harm to anyone.

I cannot guarantee it will work 100% of the time, but I am hoping this will AT LEAST cut down the religion-based flaming on the forums.
