Our family computer suddenly started to display virus infection warnings and encouraged us to download non-free antivirus software. I removed the warnings with WinPatrol (all that I could), ran a NOD32 (found a trojandropper) then AdAware (found 152 spywares). After restarting, the internet became weird. The Explorer claimed that there isn't internet conection, while Opera could work. However, Opera works now without JavaScript! The JavaScript is enabled at every place where it can be enabled, but still, nothing works that requires JavaScript (for example, the downloading of the newest Opera...). Disabling JavaScript doesn't make any difference. Either with or without JavaScript, all internet pages show like JavaSript wouldn't be enabled... I suspect there was an internet file removed during the spyware deletions... NOD32 deleted a file that has nothing to do with the internet, unlike AdAware. However, as far as I know, spywares don't "infect" files, they are the files themselves, so an important internet file can't turn into spyware and can't get deleted by AdAware... I rebooted WinXP, but one of the warnings are still there and no JavaScript...
Help?
Javascript fails after virus busting

What's the name of the file that can't be deleted?
Also, have you tried disabling NOD32? Perhaps it's blocking things it shouldn't for some reason.
Here's a direct link to download Opera, if you want to try that: http://www.mehok.uni...ional_Setup.exe

If Javascript doesn't work like that most likely part of your java installation got deleted. I think you can get it from www.sun.com.

Thank you for telling things. I use my laptop, but my brother claims that the internet works now.
Anyway, the file that couldn't be deleted was some video thing, maybe a codec that was specific to some video... a naughty video full with viruses, as I know my older brother...

Nah, it wouldn't be that. Despite the names, Java and Javascript are unrelated. The latter is handled entirely by the browser, not by any sort of extension.

At this point, you'll probably want to reinstall Windows from scratch and get back to a fresh start.
