8-Way Movement?

Should this quest use the 8-way movement feature for Link, even though the quest makes use of the Raft/Ladder/Flipper items? It currently is implemented in the quest.
Now before we instantly say no, here's my thoughts:
Probably 90% of the places that use the ladder/raft are the normal areas in Z1 that use them. Ive played most of the way through this several times while testing, and theres only one or two spots where the raft and ladder feel really janky, or mess me up. I play with both a controller and a keyboard, because keyboard is just better for when you are testing. Anyway, these couple spots. I think I can correct them pretty easily.
For the raft docks, I can just place a rock or something next to the docks (on land) so that the player can easily line themselves up with the dock. For the ladder, the only spots it feels janky in is a screen that I edited. So i could make adjustments to it so that it better suits the ladder. Another point to bring up, is that some of the scripted enemies and bosses in this quest have 8-way movement as well, so some could say that Link not being able to do so would feel "clunky" (for lack of a better word right now lol).
Anyway, curious on everyones thoughts, so let me know what you think!

Definitely. In my opinion, games without 8-way movement are so primitive, borderline unplayable.

Go for it, I wouldn't expect 0 jank. But I can respect doing what you can to minimize the jank. And it's kind of jank to have to avoid certain items that you want to use, or that you have to use.

Sounds like you got the situation covered. Go for it.

I'm with all the others and I'd say go for it too. It seems like you've already took care of the Raft bugging issues (that is a good fix for the weird behaviour IMO) and if you didn't find a lot of weird stuff going on with the ladder then I guess it should be fine.

By the way, if rocks would be weird, you could put solid water around the docks.

So we pretty much have a general consensus here. Thats good, it means I dont have to change anything
I guess I should also mention that the water in dungeons is the "ladder only" combo type, except for a spot in L7 when you get the flippers.
And since its mostly just the original uses of the ladder, theres not much time for the player to really "get janky with it"
So Ill bring up another question regarding the ladder and flippers. You can drown in the OW water, but there are a couple of spots that you can use the ladder to find secrets or shortcuts, like up in the central north of the OW. You also need to use the ladder to get into Dungeon 5.
Should I limit the use of the Ladder in the OW, so that it only gets used in screens where you can access a shortcut or secret?

Honestly, thinking about it, an item that is used only once can be omitted entirely...
