Right? What a waste of time.
Sometimes I just don't want to go to sleep

so true. it would be so nice if sleeping wasn't needed.

Some people are able to power nap, which saves a lot of dead time. Not sure how much is innate and how much can be learned, but I envy those people.

I like sleeping, it's when you dream.

I like sleeping, it's when you dream.
It's also where I have nightmares that cause me to wake up screaming.... But yeah I like it when I have good dreams, I wish I could record them...

Literally same. Sleeping is great but also a curse.

yea I hate when I phase into being like half asleep and I think to myself "oh no there's a demon monster that's staring at me simultaneously under my bed and in the corner of the room and is gonna jump scare and eat me"

you don't have to sleep until you can't not and then man it goes on forever.

I'm in the "I'm gonna fall asleep whether I want to or not" camp mostly, past a certain point my eyes get blurry and tired and dry and I know I can't not sleep. And then I sleep like 10 hours and when I wake up I have to flip over a bunch of times to get my sinuses to clear well enough to breathe through both sides. So that part sucks. It seems slightly more restful if I got woken up in the middle because then I can go to the bathroom before going back to sleep which probably helps my organs or something?? But usually I just sleep right through and wake up having to go pretty bad, on top of the sinus issue.
Dreams can be kind of cool (I have some where I stop obeying gravity and just float around? And I had this really cool one about being a mermaid once) but sometimes they're kinda stressful or weird (there's often someone mad at me in a dream, or I'm having to live in my parents' old house or something). It is interesting though.

How about when you're in the 'inbetween' sleep state, where you can barely keep your eyes open, but you nevertheless just can't sleep?

I don't seem to consciously get that one so much. But I have been told I've woken up coughing and saying "oh god" or screaming, which I don't remember doing at all. (I might have sleep apnea and ought to look into getting that tested.)
