When I look at this question, honestly the first thing I think is that if a criminal charged with murder is sent to prison, and is later released on 'good behavior', but then continues to kill, the death penalty is what ought to await them when the authorities once again have them in custody.

It is pretty unlikely to happen that a released criminal is going to continue to kill. When it happens the media goes wild and because we get to know so much information about such cases we tend to think it's a common scheme when it really isn't. Ever heard about someone on the news that got released from prison and than never commited a crime again ? Likely not, because it's not spectacular enough.

Also, it's been proven by research that there is no difference in the number of commited murder regarding wether the state supports death penalty or not. There's simply no good in death penalty at all, however you put it.

Daniel, would you seriously just shoot someone down for stepping on your property? Like, in all seriousness? icon_freak.gif

If said person is insulting women and threatening them with a gun, yes.

I would have shot someone Friday if it was legal. Said persons ex-girlfriend and her daughter were at my house and we were hanging out a while then her daughter seen my 45 auto on my reloading bench and asked if was new, I said yeah and asked if she wanted to shoot it, she said sure (the only time she ever shot a gun prior to that was my .45 colt colt rifle, she did good). So we went back to my pond and I taught her how to use it and she had fun. I had three bullets in it and she kept closing her eyes because she was scared it would fly back and hit her in the face. She had alot of fun but her ears were ringing and as we were on our way back to my house to get my .22 rifle (which don't kick and is not too loud) he walks over to the fence yelling and cussing at her because the car was in his yard (you have to go through his yard to get to our property and her car was at my gate). He said they were not allowed on his property and proceeded to take his little 38 pistol out of his pocket and threaten them, when I got my .45 out (he didn't know it was out of ammo) he then stuck his gun back in his pocket and picked up a brick to threaten them with. Had he stepped over into my property I would have shot him as it would have been legal, but now they can't come visit and I got to cut across the pasture because he don't want a "punk ass kid" on his property.

He of course was jealous that they were with me and also still mad because I was transferred to his shop and quit. But it's fine I am going to take her to a shooting range because I enjoy shooting guns as a hobby and she wanted to try it out and had alot of fun, that would make one hobby we have in common.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is why the US needs to revise its gun control laws. Absolute insanity icon_sweat.gif

Nah they are too strict now, people just put a little too much value on life. Think of it as society "pussying out".

How is not shooting everything that moves "pussying out"? That has got to be one of the most incredible statements I have read here on this site. What the hell.

Too strict gun laws is a good thing, because it means less people will be able to shoot other people.

The fact that you two actually pointed guns at each other sickens me a great deal. I don't exactly understand why he would pull out his gun at all, nor why he would bring it with him to your property. I understand that you only held yours up as some sort of self-defense, and in this one situation I do agree with that, but if none of you had guns that wouldn't be happening in the first place >_<

We did not point guns at each other and he did not walk onto my property with a gun. He was on his property the whole time and I was on mine. I walked them to the gate and he put his gun in his hand and was threatening them, I got mine out of my pocket as kind of a bluff (as I said it had no bullets in it).

If he had came onto my property threatening them with a gun in his hand that would have been a different story (to me at least). He has a history of beating women so if he was to walk over to my property drunk threatening them with a gun in his hand I would have been more than happy to have shot him (if my gun was actually loaded at the time).

However I am not really interested in a gun control debate and I don't think this topic was meant as such. I simply answered the question truthfully and am posting now just to clear up your concerns, because I probably was not clear in my first post about guns not actually being pointed.

So true.

I'm in agreement with Noel. This whole thread is a little. creepy? The responses almost make me scared at what type of people there are in this world.

There aren't many topics on this forum that I take seriously. Hence, my answer being yes.

No, I am not actually capable of killing someone, even if it were to be legal.

icon_sweat.gif I know you're a Bible nut, but my experience with Bible nuts is that they really don't give a damn about what the Bible actually says. Anyway, in the hope you don't fall into that category:

Deuteronomy 30:19: "I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live."

Peace.

But that doesn't mean the subject of the opinion is subjective. Many different people could have many different opinions as to what 2+2 equals, but that doesn't mean they're all right or no right answer exists. The answer is four, and whoever thinks otherwise is wrong. Plain and simple. icon_razz.gif

Other than that, yes it's a tautology that people believe their own beliefs are correct (else they wouldn't hold them). I was just making a joke. icon_lol.gif
