Notes on Alpha 10:

1. Fixed a few things _4matsy reported
2. Red Fokkas more true to Z2 colors
3. Lv. 3 Gold Candle (4 Dmg, certainly useful for killing QuestWizard style Moldorm in the Bonus Level)

4. Lv. 2 Magic Book added

5. New section of Bonus Dungeon installed (arguably still impassable as the Whisp Ring is still not put in yet)

 

Things I would like to add (pending what people think):

1. Choose A and B Weapons (this also requires a subscreen rewrite since the sword would make the 13th item, which is why I'm hesitating)
2. Lv. 2 Bombs (16 Damage, normal)
3. Lv. 2 Wand (8 Damage)
4. If there's room to fit it, Long Bow?

I think your proposed additions are excellent ideas

 

Adding real-time strategy to combat is always a good idea

Another change:

 

1.  Peek-a-boo Bats moved out of the lose all your money area, room currently blank, will be replaced by a new enemy.

Balance is key to everything, I think that's a good move. Don't make it too easy or too hard. If people think it's too easy, just hero mode it (no hearts/massive damage/insanity).
