Careless glitches, unfair difficulty, puzzles that only the quest creator would be able to figure out, and my inability to find critical items or locations, such as the Sword or Level 1. In general, when the creator puts little effort into the quest, I put even less effort into playing it.

I'll start playing a quest and I generally know pretty early whether it's something I want to finish. A good quest will suck me in and make me want to keep playing. Ridiculous difficulty too early, glitches, or sometimes just the wrong "feel" and I'll pass. I have started a number of long quests, such as Hero of Dreams, and, for whatever reason, never finished. I'll like a quest but if I go away from it for too long I'll start something else. I know a couple other people here have said they do that too.
