Agree that rocksfan is a great quest maker. I got through level 5 but couldn't even find 6, so gave up.

Level 5 in the past (bright world)....use the wand/fire above the entrance that you couldn't get into before..leads to graveyard and level 6....that's the easy part because level 6 is turning into another gnarly adventure after a pretty straightforward beginning

Thanks, chief, I'll give it another shot.
Oh, no--this is the one where the windrobes zoom you back to start after you've busted your gut to get all the way deep down in the level. This is where I got p.o'd and quit years ago.

Here's some FYI:

shield can be bought in the past (bright world) in a shop in the islands AND life potions bought in the area east of the islands, past world also

Additionally, have the last key that I need for level 6..have all the goodies plus the glove now...have located levels 7 and 8...krikeys, this is e-z mate...NOT with rocksfan, I'm sure! icon_heh.gif

In the desert, which is present, you'll find a warp in the NE corner or one screen south of the NE corner (use your lens) use the flute to make it appear....take warp to the past where the desert is now the tropics (woohoooo) and level 8 is in the NW corner...you'll need a superbomb which find in that area....desert is accessed thru the church...also another entrance to level 8 thru a whirlpool in the passage way between 4 and 5 ..shoot an arrow at one of the 2 small statues toward the top of the screen...am presently trudging thru 8 right now

Actually, schoochie, level 8 is worth the price of admission....very clever, devious and all those things that we hate/like at the same time....see it through, pretty good stuff

AND A QUESTION: The clue for the silver arrow in one of the forums (use whistle in the crystal trigger/platform/lynel room) turned out to be the clue for the boss key (the whistle opened up the route)...sooooooo, where is the silver arrow?

DISREGARD: The silver arrows are mine

Boss in level 8...pretty sure it is in the NE sector of 4th floor, but can't seem to get there. On 3rd floor, when you come up the eastern most stairs and head west in the bottom row of rooms, there is a room with a lava pond blocking travel - there is a bridge that shows up with the lens, but it seems the trigger is "ball thingy" that you need to strike with the sword. There's the problem, I need to get over there to trigger the bridge but I can't get over there without the bridge. There are steps leading up to fourth floor on other side of the lava pond and since I didn't find them coming down from 4th floor, I am assuming those are the stairs up to the boss area. How do I navigate this room with the blocking lava pond?? icon_wacky.gif

Retraced my steps and did what I thought I had tried before...this time it worked. So, if anyone has questions about level 8, I am reasonably sure I can help out. On to level 9 and bring this beast to its knees!!

Thanks for the help, chief. I've just gotten a job after almost two years of unemployment and am busying up with relocation, etc. so won't be active with ZC for some time to come. I'm sure you'll whup this game's butt soon enough.

I have made it to the last boss in the final dungeon and am in the process of figuring out how to take him down...I must tell you, the last two levels ( 8 and 9) and the ensuing final sequence have been most absorbing. Retirement 3 has not received the acclaim that it should have, certainly there are difficult phases in the game and at times you want to scream out loud. However, a little perseverance pays off and rocksfan has gotten quite adept at taking you to that threshhold of saying enough is enough but still being able to rise above it. It is a shame that people haven't stuck with it because they are really missing some creative dungeon work. The forum over at Elise's place has had some critical clues as well as this forum. I WHOLEHEARTEDLY recommend blowing the dust off this classic and jump in....if there are any takers, I will keep an eye on the forum to help out. You might be frustrated at times, but seeing it through will be worth it!

Rocksfan, if you're out there....I need some help...in the final sequence...about the seventh statue attack, there is a double image of that statue, what the heck do I attack with....I tried everything I could think of..except a super bomb in which case I'm sheet out of luck

Thanks for the help rockman, (see classic forum from Elise), the actual grueling last battle can be finished with only having to use half the bottle of life potion...so to all the naysayers of this quest because of the difficulty factor..don't let that be a deterrent to having a real good time with this one....truly a diamond in the rough....thanks one more time for a superb effort!! Anyone reading this should really try this one....bring your thinking cap and bandages for the injuries you will get....but the reward quotient is very high!!
