While I was at vacation, lying near the waves of the rocky-sandy beach, covered in sprinkling water, the intro of MMX6 was playing in my head. Then I thought about asking people about their favourite intros and about intros in general... Share an intro (video or just information) with us if you think that it's special.
Mega Man X6 Intro
The music and song is simply great, the whole intro is dramatic. A great summary of the happenings of MMX5 when shooting the Enigma too early, but collecting all Shuttle items on schelude.
Mega Man X5 Intro
This is also good. Pretty music. Though, I didn't like it when seeing it for the first time.
Mega Man X4 Intro
This is also good enough. Barely hits the grade at me, but it does.
MMX4 Japanese Intro
Japanese song inside! I just found it.
Jumping Flash2 Intro
This game was once my favourite, the intro is really good.
Final Fantasy IX pre-intro
Very good music.
I'd like to see a movie intro for MMX1, luckily it got one in the PS version. However, as far as I know, MMX2 haven't got a new movie for the PS version, keeping the SNES one (which good enough, anyway). The intro of MMX3 PS version would have been good if it weren't for those terrible inaccuracies... Vile isn't in MMX2, the final level isn't Flame Stag's boss room, there wasn't any dashing armor in MMX2 (Falcon, Ultimate, etc...) and so on. The music of the MM2 intro is extra great. However, the OoT intro was a disappointment after the detailedness of the aLttP intro...

Tales of Phantasia (PSX)
I personally like this version of the Tales of Phantasia opening the best. The only real competitor was the SNES version, but I like the remixed song in the PSX one. It's a shame that the PSX version never got released and properly translated stateside. All we got was the crappy GBA port with atrocious translation and voice acting (really, Ragnarok should not be mistranslated as Kangaroo).
Silent Hill 2
I really like this song (to the point where I can play the intro on the piano ). Parts of the movie also capture the psychological aspect of the game as welll.
Silent Hill 3
Another good song. Can't do this one on the piano though. I like how the movie shows some of the freaky bits without spoiling anything.
Ninja Gaiden (NES)
This one brings back so many memories. One of my first games I ever played. Sure, I had no real understanding of what was going on, but it was a ninja duel. That alone makes it awesome.
And I'm also a fan of the Megaman X5 intro.

Do you like the Japanese or the EU/US MMX5 intro better? I think the soft and suddenly hard music of the EU/US fits the animations better than the all rock one of the Japanese. Also, the Japanese MMX6 intro has verbal text which makes the background song less enjoyable. However, the MMX4 intro's Japanese version far supresses the EU/US one. They should have kept the Japanese song or made up an english one.

I like the US MMX5 intro better. The remix of Zero's Theme from MMX works much better than the song used in Japan's version.
The problem with a lot of Japanese intros is that it feels that they slap some random JPop/JRock that usually don't fit well with the introduction itself. An exception to this is the Japanese Tales of Symphonia intro. The animation was done around the band's song, so it works.

I like the Super Mario RPG one. That one was cool. Nice music, too.
