Hey, guys.
So, I'm about Chickaloo Tree Nut deep in designing my first quest. It's really close to fully planned out, but before I really commit to designing with more detail... I thought a nice discussion might be in order.
How would you guys define a Good Overworld?
What's the purpose of the overworld in Zelda? In certain games, it's different.
In Hyrule, do you like being able to use your knowledge of other Hyrule-set games to get an in-head map?
I'm looking to make my overworld a bit more involved than the maze between dungeons, but I DO have a large Hyrule, and I want to hit all the right notes, make sure there's plenty of content and secrets, easter eggs, etc. You'll pretty much know your way around if you've played all the 3D games, at least. But hopefully more open like LttP's version of BotW's Hyrule, with OoT-esque story.
