[Useless Old Man Wisdom]

In terms of keys, I have 2 you don't. I may be able to help you with these if necessary.

You and Kifstopher cleared up the key issue for me. I was missing Teacyn's key, because I thought for sure the hint had to do with what is, in fact, the hint to get K's key. I found Teacyn's key after a short bit of searching in the wild. I also thought that Maddie's hint was just to discover the Zora ghost, but it turns out that there is indeed a key associated with this hint and I found it as well. I ran into this same problem of ambiguity a number of times, actually. You get a hint and you think it's for a completely different secret, because the two have similar themes and locations. If there are any future versions of this quest, I would hope that the in-quest hints and feelies are revised so that there's less doubt about which actual secret the hint, unlocked text files, or screencaps actually apply to.

 

I ended up 100-percenting and, well, I guess I can say I did that.

It doesn't surprise me. When I tried mapping all the portals, I ended up on the same spot on the map with different enemy sets - that was my clue. I gave up mapping the Jazz Temple after that and luckily found the clue to the Hall of Vision in the bombable wall in the main ruins.

Where is the regretful one? I saw the post that said she was not found in a dive spot in the Noise ruins but to the east of the library east of the Noise ruins. Still can't find her even by looking at the water.

What is the passcode for Snorlax? She said she did something with the garden but I can't tell what. I tried digging up outside and it looked like some sort of fish or maybe the Greek letter alpha? Then I saw there were 3 red palm trees in the area and thought maybe it had something to do with 3PALMTREES or something.

What is the passcode for Zora? He said of all the songs I heard, it was the oddest. I opened up the folder with the quest and listed all of the song titles with no luck.

For Lonely.png, I found a seashell by itself on the same screen as the gale tree and a note appears when I stand on it. BAXY is written on the image and I'm pretty sure I need to press the keys corresponding to those buttons, but I'm having no luck. Do certain items have to be in the slots?

For ILoveYou.txt, it refers to the loneliest stump in town. I think it's the stump in the Town of Romance that's immediately to the right of the merchants. The clue talks about "walking around me" so I tried walking around the stump several times, in both directions. Then I tried using every item I had on it with no success. Is this the right stump?

- The Regretful one is one screen east of the library that leads to Noise Pit. There is a water tile that looks slightly different, you need to dig it.

- The difference is in the grass. Look carefully and some grass tiles have letters on them. If I recall correctly, the password is VALENTINE.

I'll add to this that I found the password for the Zoria hint by going to Lost Country and just looking in the quest midi drop down menu in ZC - the song title is right there. Ghost Patsy, on the screen south of the entrance to the Harmonious Ruins, also mentions how there's something strange about the music in the area (Lost Country). I recalled that string and it was what led me to go to Lost Country and check the quest midi menu in the first place.

 

I solved the loney.png secret by standing on the lonely seashell and actually pressing the buttons BAXY in that order. If you're in the right position, and see the music note, you should be able to press the buttons in order and you won't use any items in the button slots upon pressing each button. Then, I went and collected 5-10 seashells and returned to the lonely seashell and pressed A while standing upon it. I guess maybe it doesn't matter in which order you do these actions.

@Demonlink & @Useless Old Man Wisdom: Thanks to you both I was able to finish with 100%. I don't think I would have ever figured out some of those solutions on my own.

- Useless Old Man Wisdom, your earlier comment about using the mighty fruit to lift tiles to solve more than 1 puzzle was probably the only reason why I tried to lift the wall tile in the Noise Pit.

 

- I never would have thought to activate the lonely stump with 1/4 of a heart though the clue did mention being "low" so I guess the puzzle wasn't totally unfair. It wasn't as obvious as facing Gleeok even though you also had to sap your energy.

 

- I never would have thought to dig a tile of shallow water to find the Regretful One. I was of the original mind of Useless Old Man Wisdom and dover under every patch of water in the Noise Pit.

 

- Thank goodness for that purple armor - made the end game soooooo much easier!!!!

Loving this so far, but I must be missing something.  I cannot seem to find/locate the flippers the jump cape.  I have the 2nd purchasable sword, the blue tunic, the shovel, Farore's fairy, and the small lantern so far. Any hints or tips would be much appreciated.

Do you have the hookshot and moon-pearl-type item yet? You'll need the moon-pearl item in order to explore the Jazz Temple and Noise pit in your true form - the form that isn't useless and can use items and stuff.

 

If so, first, you're going to need the jump cape. Have you found the Hall of Visions and completed the puzzle(s) within? Once you do that, some events will happen, and you'll gain another item that opens up an important plot device used in the quest. Once you have that item, go look for Melody in the Suspence Wild. Ultimately, finding Melody in Suspence Wilds  is how you get the jump cape, but I forget if I was led in that direction by asking for a hint, or if there was some other cutscene or dialogue string that played and pointed me in that direction. Maybe it's both?

 

With the jump cape in hand, and if you have already defeated the Ghoma boss in the Trance Cavern, you have access and can explore the Sound Library via the Noise Pit. You'll need to find a passage in the south-central area of the Sound Library, which leads to some previously-unreachable rooms inside the ruins. In one of those inside-the-ruins rooms, the flippers are in a chest.

While not absolutely required, the moon-pearl (it's not called that in this quest) is necessary in order to traverse the Jazz Temple and Noise Pit in your true form. If you don't have the MP and have tried going to the JT or NP, you've probably noticed that your character is a helpless snake-like thing that can't use items or swords. You can now explore the entire overworld if you have the hookshot. Try to enter Suspense Wilds by hookshotting across the pit tiles in the northwest area of the Novel Ruins area of the overworld. The hookshot can grab on to trees in this quest. This is also how you can reach the last firepit and thus reach and activate the red altar (to fight the Ghoma boss) in the Trance Cavern. If you thought you need the flippers to reach those things, that's just another little detail where the quest punishes the player for overthinking.

 

You'll also want to go and explore Mt. Scyphy (the volcanic area) with your new hookshot.

There's a bombable wall inside the ruins over near the entrance to trance cavern that leads to a room in which there is a text plaque that has the directions. Inside the Jazz Temple, pay close attention to the map (and maybe even sketch a map yourself) because several of the screens have a "parallel" version of themselves that you can only reach by following the correct warps on the correct version of the respective screens. The parallel versions of those JT screens are important to find later on in order to complete the quest 100-percent.

Thanks, and I was able to find my way around the Jazz temple without the moon pearl like item, solve the block puzzle in the temple and got the item there as well..  I am still looking for it, and have been all over virtually the whole map.  I am still looking for it and the jump cape now, and have tried the Ghoma boss a few times....he is a hard one.  Loving the difficulty and some of the cryptic puzzles as well.

To answer the question in the spoiler, no I have not beaten him yet.  I found him in Lost country, but could not get him to do anything, unless I am looking in the wrong place.  I tried feeding a fish to him, and to the pool of blood in the entrance to the as well as the bait for the riddle of feed him flesh from the green tablet, but nothing from that.  Still trying to figure it out, and for the HOV, I brute forced my way around it by process of elimination on what I had not found yet.  I do not recall seeing anything other than the "shades" in the HOV after "meditating".  I will try it out again though to see if I missed something.  I love puzzles, but holy smokes are the ones in this one good and hard.  I love the challenge.

You are on the right track to find Aquamentus. You need to feed the pool of blood just above the entrance screen inside the ruins, and then "hit the bricks" beneath the green altar also inside the ruins. The bait should disappear from your inventory if you manage to feed the pool of blood. That "hit the bricks" mechanic is a recurring one as the quest goes on.

 

I'll save you some trouble about some things I was confused about while playing: there are 16 "ghosts" to find, and every one of them is equivalent to a sidequest that leads to an individual item. Among those items are the 12 keys of muse, 2 necessary tools, a L4 armor, and L4 sword. With the exception of the L4 armor and sword, all of the items are mandatory - unless you want to grind rupees and buy hint keys. Several of the feelie zip files are oddly named and not clearly linked to any of the ghosts you find, but you can probably deduce which ones the oddly-named zip files correlate to.
