I read this tutorial, but this damned program doesn't work:

QUOTE
How to get Zelda Classic working on your PC.

Start by downloading and unzipping all files into a new folder of their own, "ZCBeta" would be a good folder name.

Depending on what version you download, your files should look something like this;

(list of files for the 192b182 beta program)
182test.qst
1st.qst
2nd.qst
3rd.qst
ag.cfg
allegro.log
alleg41.dll
agsetup.exe
sfx.dat
zc192b182d.exe
zc192b182s.exe
zc192b182w.exe
zelda.dat
zelda.exe
zelda (shortcut)
zelda.sav
zelda-w.exe
zgp.dat
zquest.exe
zquest.txt
zquest-w.exe

Now that all these files are there with the exception of maybe the ag.cfg and the Allegro log you need to get the program to write those for you as well.
Double click on "zquest-w.exe", when ZQuest opens, click on ETC at the top right and play lost woods midi.
Click on ETC and turn the music off, and exit ZQuest by clicking on FILE then EXIT.

You should now be able to play the games.
Double click on "zelda-w.exe" and when the flames come up press "Enter" on your keyboard.
Press Enter again to pass the Zelda intro screen.
Register a name, and press enter and the first quest will be ready to play.
Enter the name "zelda" if you would prefer to play the second quest.

No one of the two .exe wants to work, all two crashes down if I doubleclick them.

And this is my file folder:

What system are you on?
EDIT: and woah, there's suddenly an overly large picture there, that kind of tells me it's XP. In that case, I can't help you...

Yes, I have the windows version of ZC 2.10, the system is Windows XP. Does it not work on such a system?

Getting ZC to work on XP is a tricky bit.. There's a topic somewhere telling how to fix it. I'll see if I can find it for you, then edit this message/reply.

Also, I edited your original post, as we have an image limit of 500x500 for the forums. Check out the rules link in my sig.

Download 2.10.2 and it comes with ZCLauncher. First open ZCLauncher, then pick your settings for either ZQuest or Zelda Classic, then hit run for either one.

Oh, I'm sorry for the big picture =o

I would be grateful if you can find this topic, I don't have a clue what to do under XP =(

EDIT: Okay, thank you, I will try the ZC Launcher =)

EDIT2: Oh, the link is broken. Mh, in this case, I will take this one, hope it's the right version:

I don't get this. Same thing happened to someone before when I gave them that link. And just like then, the link works for me. Is the download coming up at all? It is for me, unzipped fine and everything.

But the ZCLauncher works fine, but there is one problem:

http://npshare.de/fi...e/SNAG-1925.png

I can play the quests, but I can't go into the option for building. "Launch ZQ" doesn't want to start, do I need some other files (Tilesets for example) or what I have to do?

What settings do you have under ZCLauncher's Zelda Quest launch settings? In the ZQ tab.
